Poker Player - Vince Burgio

Vince Burgio was born in Kansas City, Missouri he now resides in California and is based in the West Hills were he lives with his wife; he also has four grown daughters. Vince graduated from the University of Missouri before moving to California in 1976 in order to set up a construction business it wasn't until 1987 that began to play poker tournaments regular basis. In Vince's first week of playing in tournament poker he won $8,000 at the Hilton, in the weeks that followed he won a further $54,000 at the Riviera this was when Vince decided to sell his construction business and become a full time professional poker player. It was not only the money that attracted Vince to game of poker it was also the celebrity status that could accompany it he especially enjoys appearing on television.

In 1992 Vince was recognized as the winner of the title, Best All-Round player when he participated in the Four Queens Poker Classic, for its time the Tournament was one of the biggest on tour and the winner received the cover of Card Player as well as $10,222 and a diamond ring. Vince's first significant finishing in the money event was at the World Series of Poker Ace to Five Draw Event, then in 1994 Vince won his first World Series of Poker bracelet in the Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo event, defeating a final table including both Jay Heimowitz and Howard "The Professor" Lederer, in the same Vince also made the final table of the $10,000 No-limit Hold'em main event that year, finishing in 4th place winning $168,000, 1994 was proving to be a good year as he also finished 1st place in the D.J.B No-Limit Hold'em Championship.

In 1998 Vince came in at 4th place at the World Series of Poker $10,000 No-limit Hold'em main event just as he did in 1994. In 1999 not only did Vince win the Los Angeles Poker Classic Lowball Championship, he was also inducted into the Seniors Poker Hall of Fame because of this you will find Vince on a limit edition poker chip along with other senior poker hall of fame entrants produced by 'Oklahoma Johnny' Hale. Vince's other poker achievements include making the final table at the World Poker Tour 1st season Gold Rush Event won by Paul Darden, Vince came in at 5th place winning $26,000, Vince has also participated in many Ultimate Poker Challenges winning the first and ninth episode.

In 2003 Vince saw plenty of success seeing thirteen final tables, in the L.A. Classic Omaha tournament at the Commerce Casino he took third place due to his aggressive style but this style of play didn't let him down when he came first in the Lowball and also notching up six final table appearances in the Omaha High-Low. At the LA Poker Classic Limit Omaha Hi-Lo Split Vince came in 3rd place earning $13,725, he came in 4th place at the Hustler Challenge Cup Omaha Hi/Lo winning $1,470, he has also come in 6th place at the Legends of Poker Omaha Hi/Lo tournament winning $1,930 as well as being placed 7th in the tournament in the Omaha Hi/Lo earning $2,345, he also made the final table at the World Poker Tour Lucky Chances all of which was achieved in 2003. In 2005 at the World Series of Poker $2,000 Seven-Card Stud High-low Split Vince came in 17th place winning $3,080, to date Vince's tournament wins exceed $1,000,000. Vince is not only a successful tournament player he also makes time to write for Cardplayer Magazine and is sponsored by the online card room, Paradise Poker.
