Poker Player - Sirous Baghchehsaraie

Sirous Baghchehsaraie has one of the most unpronounceable and hard to spell surnames on the poker circuit, and it is with great relief to the rest of the world that he is quite happy to be known as Sirous B.

Sirous B is one of the most prolific poker tournament players around, although he is still technically classed as an amateur player. He is a calm player who consistently makes it to money finishes, the majority of second tables (usually finishing 12th or 13th) and every once in a while, he cashes in at the final table. Sirous B is remarkable not least because his total number of money finishes at the second table probably out strip the combined total of any other two professional players in the world! There is very little known about Sirous B outside of the poker circuit but his statistics are still impressive.

The Hendon Mob Database holds Sirous B's playing records all the way back to January 1999, and the list goes on for pages and pages! His total winnings from live tournaments are in excess of $905,788, and with the frequency with which he plays, this figure is likely to go up and up. Although there are few major poker tournament titles to his name, Sirous B has still has an impressive list of achievements. In January 2004, he came first in the $300 No Limit Hold'em event in the LA Poker Classic, winning the first prize of $182,480. He went on to win $13,130 by coming third in the $100 No Limit Hold'em La Stars and Stripes, in June of the same year. In January 2005, Sirous B finished first in the $500 Omaha Hi-Lo event at the Sixth Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open, in Tunica, winning $64,467. In the July 2005 Legends of Poker, he finished in first place again, this time for $300 Omaha Hi-Lo, taking $20,040 in cash. Throughout 2005, Sirous B consistently finished between 5th and 15th place in a multitude of tournaments, all the while taking money finishes, despite the lower finishing positions. Most recently in March 2006, Sirous B came second in the $1000 No Limit Hold'em event at the World Poker Challenge, in Reno, scooping a sizeable $54,505.

With such consistent play, and the ability to surprise, there is bound to be more to come from Sirous Baghchehsaraie in the future. He's certainly showing no signs of slowing down!
