Poker Player - Evelyn Ng

Evelyn Ng was born in 1975 and raised in Toronto, Canada she currently resides in Las Vegas. Evelyn was introduced to poker at the age of seventeen when she took a job as a Black Jack and Poker dealer in one of Toronto's underground poker rooms. During her time as a dealer Evelyn carefully observed the card players around her especially those who won time and time again. Evelyn began to realize that games like poker were not only based on pure luck but were a combination of psychological warfare, skill and luck, Evelyn decided that simply dealing cards was no longer appealing to her instead it was playing. Evelyn's change of career coincided with legalized poker in the city and the advent of charity casinos, while attending the charity casinos Evelyn met Daniel Negreanu who has remained firm friends with Evelyn and is her on/off poker coach.
Evelyn has had to earn her respect at the poker tables, many believed that her status was simply based on her looks, her statuesque six foot frame and the fact that she is dressed to hit the town as soon as she's finished at the table as well as primarily being a ring player and Daniel Negreanu's ex-girlfriend. Evelyn is a fiery competitor and this showed at the Ladies Night Invitational Season Two of the World Poker Tour, when the camera's rolled Hg proved that she was at the table to play and nothing more, she gave her all out playing a tough table including top professionals Annie Duke, Kathy Liebert and Jen Harman. Evelyn's personality at the table infected the crowd and by the end they were all cheering for her but at the end Evelyn was rattled by the state of play against Clonie Gowen and decided to move in, instead Clonie came out on top however Evelyn's second place finish firmly cemented her a place as a female poker player to be respected. Evelyn accepted her loss with class and grace and even celebrated with Clonie over a glass of champagne.
Evelyn has distinguished herself in a number of major poker tournaments including the World Poker Tour Ladies Night 2003 coming in 2nd place she then finished again in 2nd place in the 2004 World Poker Tour Ladies Night, the March 2004: World Series Of Poker $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em finishing in 24th place winning $5,740, the April 2004: Poker Stars Sunday Tournament No-Limit Hold'em finishing in 3rd place winning $22,000, the November 2004 World Poker Finals No Limit Hold'em finishing in 48th place winning $1566, the December 2004 Bellagio Five Diamond Poker Classic finishing in 29th place winning $7180, the January 2005: Poker Stars Caribbean Adventure $7,800 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event finishing in 22nd place winning $17,300, the September, 2005: World Poker Tour Borgata Poker Open $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em Championship finishing in 11th place winning $64,942 and the October 2005: Bellagio Festa Al Lago $2500 No-Limit Hold'em finishing in 26th place winning $4,095.
Poker is not the only claim to fame that Evelyn has she also likes to do poker chip tricks at the table which not only entertains the crowd but also the other players. Evelyn also moonlights for the American channel NBC as a sports commentator; there are also rumours that Evelyn has been asked to do a Playboy shoot along with fellow poker player Jen Harman.
